Our Story 传承
The Samsui women of Singapore, easily recognised by the red headscarves they wore on site, came from Sam Sui in Guangdong to work construction in the early 20th century, helping build the roads, homes and skyline of a growing city.
Sam Sui Wui Kun 三水会馆, one of Singapore's oldest Chinese clan associations, has preserved their story and the wider Sam Sui heritage since 1886: photographs, work permits and letters home, a timeline of the association's history, and interviews with the families who remember them.
